General definition of "Komuniti Bestari" or Informed Communal...
It is a set of programs to drive a community to be more dynamic,visionaries, based on voluntarism and self- reliance mentality.
Members of "Komuniti Bestari" will becoming the agent of change by promoting the communal development programs or own planning to alleviates communal socio and economic problems that faced by that community. There shall be some forms of guidelines and financial support by the government to facilitate the take off and to put the whole movement into correct track to achieve the wholesome objectives.
The community can classified into :
A village/ district/town/local government jurisprudence's etc..
What are the main focus...?
1. Development and Solidification of national unity
The objective is to strengthen and develop the patriotic and self esteem to the highest amongst members within the same locality regardless of ones belief and race.
2. Development of Socio Economy
To raise awareness and interest amongst members to market their potential socio economic activities between members as well other communities by participating in promotional , marketing, expose to new knowledges/ courses, study tour programs, and many more relevant activities. Promotional activities by TVs,radio stations are common help by the authority.
3. Sharing information between members and within other "Komuniti Bestari" groups.
Information sharing are encouraged between members and other communities to enhance e-knowledge society. Intelligent and diligent societies are created when informations are made available, lead to understanding and awareness , presented to them in timely manner . Harmonious society will result when each member understands what are expected from them and acts reciprocally to others need.
Amongst activities that can be implemented :
- Study tour to successful "Komunity Bestari"
- Get together events between "Komuniti Bestari" groups
- Get-to-together on National or Religious ceremonial events
- Reading Corner- mini library
- Debate/Forum participation
- On air/radio forum,quiz etc.
- Exhibition/expo
- Many more relevant activities
